Our Veterinary Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Veterinary Services of Gladewater stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. 

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We have the ability to preform complex orthopedic procedures, soft tissue surgery, elective surgeries, and in depth dental procedures. 

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. We understand that you are concerned about the risk of putting your older pets under anesthesia and we take the most pre-cautions making sure that your pets are safe under anesthesia. We have at least one technician per anesthetic event whose priority is monitoring your pets anesthesia.

Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases. We also are able to preform in-house ultrasonography as needed for your pet. 

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We have recently updated to digital radiography which helps us to better diagnose and treat your pet's illnesses. 

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions, and minor oral surgery. We have a state of the art Dental-Aire scaling and polishing machine to provide the best dental care possible for your pet. 

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, heartworm testing and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. We are able to check phenobarb levels and thyroid levels in house for re-filling your pets medicines in a timely fashion. 

Permanent identification: We provide AKC ReUnite microchip. This is a universally recognized microchip to get your pet home to you as fast as possible. 

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets by Hills Prescription Diet. We will also provide Royal Canin prescription diets on an as needed basis. 

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet. We provide, Nexgard, Bravecto, Trifexis, Revolution and Vectra to cover the specific needs for each of your pets. 

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression. We can also direct you to a Veterinary Behaviorist if your pet is in need of referral. 

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday. 

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available. We bathe every pet after they board or are hospitalized with us to ensure that each pet goes home smelling better than they arrived at our clinic. We will also offer medicated baths as prescribed by our veterinarians.
